What makes the Lane Acclaim line so special is it's superior dovetail design and durability that made it the top selling line of furniture in 1963. Danish Modern/Scandinavian Modern had hit the US furniture scene in a big way in the early 1960's, and American furniture makers were scrambling to make their own versions of this style, but not all were as successful as Lane's Acclaim.
One of Lane's designers, Andre Bus, was able to create the look of the famed dovetail design by die-cutting a walnut veneer top that overlayed onto an oak veneer and puzzle pieced together creating a large dovetail design on each top. It was this method that allowed these pieces to be mass produced and still meet a modest price point without sacrificing durability or style. There were multiple pieces and sets made for every area of the home in the Acclaim line. It had enduring popularity during its run, and continues to be a highly collectible line of Danish Modern/Scandinavian Modern furniture today.

|The Two Tier Swivel Coffee Table by Lane Acclaim|
|The great dovetail design and versatile function of the Acclaim Swivel Coffee Table make it one of the most sought after Lane pieces of the era.|
The most sought after piece of Acclaim Dovetail is the two part swivel coffee table that has two tiers and pivots to be set in a variety of angles. We have only seen them a few times ourselves, and we are very excited to have one going up on our site this week! It did need some tlc when we found it at auction, but it still had the sturdiness that Lane is known for. It turned out fantastic! So now we have the Acclaim Dovetail swivel coffee table and three side tables! It pays to get up early even on a Saturday. One of the side tables will be up on the site this week too. Stop by the site to check out the new "Acclaim to Fame" this week!
